1.) The 'thick wife' guy
This week, the Twittosphere delighted in trolling Robbie Tripp, who seemed to think he was God's gift to feminism for deigning to have a curvy wife.
He wrote on Instagram "I love this woman and her curvy body. As a teenager, I was often teased by my friends for my attraction to girls on the thicker side."
Wow, that must have been so hard for u hun, how on earth did you get through it?
2.) The latest instalment in the Megan Rondini case
On Monday, the latest instalment of the Megan Rondini case came out – that her lawyers are now suing the University of Alabama for deliberately mishandling her rape investigation.
Megan reported that she had been raped by a guy called TJ Bunn, who was part of a prominent Tuscaloosa family who had ties to the university. The university failed to investigate her complaint, and one of her courses even required her to attend a barbecue HOSTED by him. The hospital, the police, and the university all completely failed her, and Megan ended up taking her own life. For the full story see the report published by BuzzFeed last month.
3.) Yet again, the Daily Mail considers this news:
A woman went to the beach with her friend and wore a swimming costume, which meant that some of her ass was revealed. SHOCKING.
4.) A woman was told off for breast feeding at the V&A
A woman was left feeling perplexed at the V&A yesterday after a member of staff asked her to cover up whilst breastfeeding in the courtyard.
She took to Twitter to point out the irony of being told to cover her breasts in a museum that's literally full of topless women:
The V&A then later apologised and insisted that women are allowed to breastfeed there. They obviously need to give their staff more training on the matter…
5.) Fox News' Eric Bolling got fired after allegations of sexual harassment emerged
On Friday, it was reported that Eric Bolling, a reporter at Fox News, has been fired for sending an unsolicited dick pic to two of his female coworkers.
Then on Saturday, Caroline Heldman, who was a frequent guest on Fox News between 2008 and 2011, came out with even more allegations against him in a Facebook post.
She said, "I did hundreds of appearances on Fox and Fox Business from 2008 – 2011, and had multiple experiences with Bolling that caused grave concern to my friends and family. Bolling referred to me as ‘Dr. McHottie’ on air on four different occasions, and called me ‘smart, beautiful, and wrong’ on air twice.”
"I know other women have had similar experiences with Bolling, which means that lots of folks at Fox knew about his behavior well before 2017."
I mean, it's Fox News, so are we really that surprised?
6.) Mary Beard received abuse on Twitter after literally doing her job
Famous classicist Mary Beard faced abuse on Twitter after she asserted that was 'at least some diversity' in Roman Britain. Cos I guess people couldn't cope with the idea of black people being around in Roman times. Oh, and they probably couldn't trust a woman to deliver this information.
7.) This article was published on the New York Post, proclaiming that boobs are somehow back in fashion
The first line of the article is "Stand up straight, push out your chest and work that feminine charm, as bountiful boobs are back in style."
Because women obviously aren't objectified enough in life, our body parts are now being turned into accessories. This article literally dissects different sizes of boob and how they can be fashionable. And it was written by a woman – yet again I find myself asking, u ok hun?
Next week I will finish with something uplifting and empowering so you don't feel too shit after reading this – but for now I am sorry, I will have to end it here cos it almost ain't even Sunday anymore. Ciao!
